James S Flett
James has over 20 years’ experience in the Law Accountancy profession.
He joined Alex Quinn & Partners in 1991 and was assumed as a Partner
in 1996 and more recently, in January 2004, assumed the role of Senior
Partner.
James has extensive experience in the preparation and taxation of
Judicial and Agent/Client Accounts of Expenses. James also has considerable
experience in the preparation of Accounts of Expenses in the House
of Lords and has appeared before the Costs Judge and Taxing Master
of the House of Lords in London.
James’ extensive experience has been recognised by the Law Society
of Scotland with him being invited to sit on the Society’s Remuneration
Committee, through which he is regularly delegated to appear before the
Lord President’s Advisory Committee for the purposes of providing
recommendations on the Judicial Tables of Fees of both the Court of Session
and Sheriff Courts.
Mark S Traynor
Mark has been involved in the Law Accountancy Profession since 1989.
Having completed a Legal Degree in 1994 he joined Alex Quinn & Partners
as an assistant having worked previously with Alex Quinn & Co and
Traynor & Co. Mark has considerable experience in all areas of
Legal Expenses with particular expertise in Judicial Accounts and Private
Business Accounts.
Mark’s Judicial Accounting experience includes Sheriff Court,
Court of Session and House of Lords Accounts. He is regularly involved
in complex additional fee cases and has provided considerable support
and assistance in such cases from settlement of the action through
to adjustment and taxation of Expenses. He has provided invaluable
assistance in relation to expenses in several high profile cases over
the last few years.
Mark is regularly asked to speak on expenses and within the past
year or so has delivered Seminars for Central Law Training specifically
in relation to questions surrounding Judicial Expenses.
Lorraine G Millson
Lorraine has been in the Law Accountancy Profession since 1974 having
originally worked with Alex Quinn & Co. Having left Alex Quinn & Co
to live in Spain for seven years she returned to work in the profession
in 1989 and has been with Alex Quinn & Partners since that time.
Over the years Lorraine has gained extensive experience in the preparation
of Private Client, Judicial and Legal Aid Accounts and heads our sizeable
Legal Aid Department.
Lorraine provides assistance to many of our clients by way of
an in-house feeing service preparing regular interim fees. She also has
considerable experience in dealing with Court Reporter/Curator Accounts.
Stephen M Johnston
Stephen has been with Alex Quinn and Partners since 1996 and has been
involved in the preparation of Accounts for most of that time.
Stephen was appointed an Associate with the firm in January 2006.
Stephen is experienced in preparation of all types of Account though
now deals predominantly with the preparation and taxation of Judicial
Accounts and Agent/Client Accounts of Expenses. Stephen regularly deals
with additional fee cases and has achieved considerable success for
clients both at taxation and through negotiation in securing sizeable
uplifts.
Stephen also has experience in providing Seminars on Expenses
to the Legal Profession.
